Go To Post Growth of the cacao pod...
The cacao trees need to be pruned regularly to develop a good shape. For this, the fan branches arising from the main stem are nipped off upto a height of about 1-1.5m in the initial years of their growth. Post that, only the thin and dried up branches are periodically removed.
Careful and sustained agricultural practices ensures that the plant flowers in the third year, giving rise to beautiful green cacao pods.
